"PORCELAIN ROUTE X 2" Germany Things to Do Tip by balhannah

Germany Things to Do: 1,240 reviews and 1,995 photos

I knew Germany had some set route's that we could follow by car, but I didn't know about the Porcelain route until we came across it in Saalfeld and Rudolstadt.
Not only is there a route in Thuringia, which is the one we were on, but there is also a Bavarian Porcelain route.

The Thuringia Porcelain Route is 340km long, taking you along the trail of porcelain history in Thuringia. There are plenty of porcelain museums, factories, painting and demonstration workshops and factory outlets along this route.

There is no specific starting or finishing point, so if you are interested, you can just visit where you want!. It passes through Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, Hildburghausen, Weimarer Land, Sonneberg, Saale-Holzland, Saale-Orla and Ilm.
