"National Museum of Namibia" Windhoek Off The Beaten Path Tip by GrumpyDiver
Windhoek Off The Beaten Path: 8 reviews and 26 photos
Namibia is a relatively young country, and much of its modern history is only around 100 years old, when it was a German colony.
The National Museum of Namibia is quite small and is located in the former German colonial fort, the “Alte Feste”. The displays cover off the struggle for independence, some colonial artefacts, a little bit of ethnographics, including a section on rock carvings and paintings. It won’t take very long to go through the museum, but it is worth a visit, if you are in the area. Admission is free.
