"Swimming and 24 hours swim event" Herscheid Sports & Outdoors Tip by yumyum

Herscheid has an outdoor swimming pool which is open in the warm season. The water is heated. There is a big pool for swimming and a jumping tower. Then there is a smaller pool for children and the baby pool.

There are changing rooms with showers and a kiosk with drinks and snacks. You may also attend swimming lessons.

Single entry is Euro 2.50 for adults, Euro 1.50 for children. Tickets for 10 entrances or season cards are also available.

Every 2 years the event "24 hour swim" is held. Swimmers of all ages go several times over a 24 hour period to swim as many kilometers as possible. Coffee, cake, bratwurst etc are sold by volunteers. Entry fee for spectators. All the proceeds from the sponsor (usually 1 Euro per kilometre) are donated to a social institution.

On the parking area outside the swimming pool there are a few places for mobile homes which you can rent for an overnight stay with electricity and shower in the swimming pool for a small fee.
