"Soviet War Memorial" Riga Region Things to Do Tip by Ben-UK

Riga Region Things to Do: 201 reviews and 215 photos

I was very impressed with the sheer size of this memorial, the monuments' towering presence in the midst of beautiful parkland is well worth seeing. It was erected in 1985 to remember the fallen soldiers of the Soviet Army and their victory over Nazi Germany 1941-1945

I walked there as mentioned below, but I understand you can take tram no: 5 from Novembra krastmala and get off two stops after the bridge

Address: Uzvaras piemineklis
Directions: I walked from the old town, across the bridge over the Daugava River and first called in at the Latvian Railway Museum (see separate tip) and then continued along the same road until I reached Uzvaras Park

Review Helpfulness: 2.5 out of 5 stars
