Taos is a charming place in New Mexico which deserves a stop. The main attraction will be the Taos pueblo, to this day a living village of Pueblo Indians, but accessible to tourists who can take guided tours of the place or just stroll around (certain areas remain off-limits). Taos (city) has a nice look due to its picturesque adobe architecture and many shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants - more than you would expect in a town this size. Rancho de Taos has a spectacular catholic church built in adobe style.
