This is my second trip with Amazing Bike Tours & their tours are spot on – AMAZING – The tour was the Thai Muang Turtles & Waterfalls day tour.

Thai Muang is a small town on the Andaman Coast in between Phuket & Khao Lak. There were only 5 of us, myself, my sister, our friends Julie & Colin & a lovely girl from New Zealand. We were picked up by minivan & taken to the Phuket Gateway where we all had a practice ride around the car park.

We rode our bikes over the Sarasin Bridges onto the mainland then after a few kilometers left the main road & cycled through villages, plantations etc. After about 15 kilometers which was a bit hard due to some boggy ground & extremely high humidity we stopped by the ocean for drinks & fruit.

This is where my sister (due to not feeling very well) and Julie (due to her aches & pains from the ATV accident) decided to ride in the van. So now we are down to 3. I have to say here that I am by far the eldest person left & my goal was to complete the whole 50 kilometers.

There were plenty of drink stops along the way as it was pretty tough due to the very high humidity, plus there was a lot of wet boggy ground to get through. Off we go again & our destination is another 20 kilometers away where we will have lunch!!

Well as luck would have it a few kilometers from the restaurant it started pouring with rain, but on we went, it was so hot & we were filthy from mud flying up etc. Lunch was amazing with a well deserved break, there was so much food we couldn’t eat it all, absolutely delicious, then the plan was to ride to the Sea Turtle Sanctuary, have a look around then ride another 15 kilometers to a beautiful waterfall.

The 3 of us still riding were a bit surprised when at lunch the guide & driver put our bikes on top of the van & said we will continue on by car due to rain. However it had stopped raining & did not rain again, so my goal of riding the whole 50 kilometers fell short.

Never mind, the Sea Turtle place was ok but the waterfall was absolutely beautiful! The water was icy cold, it is a slippery walk to get to the waterfall due but once up there it was amazing! Very beautiful place.

Amazing Bike Tours are a fantastic way of seeing the countryside and I am looking forward to going on another tour with them next trip.
