"Packing List" Japan Packing List Tip by DrSpiritGirl

Japan What to Pack: 59 reviews and 33 photos

Luggage and bags: Ensure your luggage has wheels on it and is easy to maneuver with.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: High fashion is key in Tokyo; however, if you are going to be doing a lot of walking ensure your shoes are comfortable. Humidity and heat are an issue in the summer months, so synthetic materials aren't very fun. Also be VERY sure to take an umbrella - they don't call it the 'rainy season' for no reason!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: In the urban areas, mosquitos aren't too bad, but you would want repellant if you're heading to more rural areas.

Also, unless you can read kanji, you will want to take your own supply of tylenol, antacid, Imodium, etc. They are very hard to find when you can't read kanji.

Another KEY thing to pack is handkerchiefs for drying your hands (public toilets don't supply paper towel). On that note, also be sure to pack packets of kleenex - public toilets also don't supply toilet paper frequently!

Photo Equipment: Anything you want to bring!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Umbrella, umbrella, umbrella.
