The Chocolate Hills are the most popular tourist attraction in Bohol. They look like green and brown kisses as they form a rolling terrain of haycock hills ? mounds of a generally conical and almost symmetrical shape.

Seeing them with my very eyes was a culmination of longtime dream and I found myself almost teary eyed when I first caught A glimpse of a few of them from a distance as we reached the summit of the Chocolate Hills Complex in Carmen. They are a sight to behold! it was lucky the weather was really bright and sunny but then it turned really really scorching hot while we were there but the beauty of the Hills, limestone formation that turn brown like chocolate kisses when the weather gets really hot and the grasses and trees dry and so the colour brown represented chocolate kisses. The biggest hill has been developed into a resort with accommodations, restaurant and gift shop. There are 214 steps to the top of the observation deck and the viewer will be rewarded with the most awesome 360 degree views of little green and brown mounds of various sizes.

According to Wikipedia," they are estimated to be from 1,268 to about 1,776 individual mounds anbd these cone-shaped or dome-shaped hills are actually made of grass-covered limestone. The domes vary in sizes from 30 to 50 metres (98 to 160 ft) high with the largest being 120 metres (390 ft) in height. Bohol's "main attraction", these unique mound-shaped hills are scattered by the hundreds throughout the towns of Carmen, Batuan and Sagbayan in Bohol."
