"Paris Beaches" Walking Around Tip by wandering360

Walking Around, Paris: 155 reviews and 439 photos

Beach? In Paris? (Except for the river, it's land-locked, you say?)

The "main" Paris Plages section is on the North (Right) bank of the Seine between the Louvre and Pont de Sully (at the Eastern end of Île Saint-Louis).

Starting ~July 20 and lasting about 4 weeks, the Voie George Pompidou expressway is closed to traffic and sand and palm trees are trucked in. There are sandy beaches, deckchairs, reading material, cold mist spray, food and drink vendors, music, free games of pétanque and various activities for children.

Take a sunbath or enjoy a beverage watching the Seine river cruises.
