"Bima horse exhibition" Bima Things to Do Tip by theo1006

In the afternoon subsquent to the horse parade, the festivities for Bima's 371st anniversary included a “horse exhibition”. On Merdeka Square, the field in front of the former Sultan's palace, several stands and activities around the theme 'horse' took place. These included all kinds of 'horsy' souvenirs, a horse photography contest, and stands with traditional woven cloth not quite fitting in.

Most guests were drawn to the demonstration of milking a mare, where selected bystanders could take a sip. Regrettably the milk was mixed with Sprite before it was handed to us to taste.

There also was horse meat for sale. Snacks and a free meal with horse meat was available for grown-ups. Some poor children feasted on the leftovers!
