"ST. CLEMENT'S CHURCH @ GRUOL" Haigerloch Things to Do Tip by balhannah

The parish of Gruol is a part of Haigerloch. It was here I found the lovely St. Clement's Church, appealing on both the outside and inside. Quite a large church, it was built in 1849 in the Gothic Revival style
Different inside to the most elaborate Churches I had previously seen in Germany, but still very nice in style, wih a nice painted ceiling, chequered brickwork and old paintings.
The high altar was especially nice! It depicts Christ on the Cross, St. Clement and St. Francis Xavier, the image of God the Father, four angels with passion dies, two angels next to the tabernacle, the reliefs of the four evangelists and the chief angel with the cross.
Along the side walls were paintings of the Nativity and the Resurrection of Christ. There were many other paintin's scattered around.
I was glad to be able to go inside for a look, thought it was worthwhile!
