Taxis, Kuala Lumpur: 41 reviews and 26 photos

I find it shocking that with the HUGE amount of revenue spent on the 'Malaysia Truly Asia' advertising outside Malaysia on our TV screens, that nothing has been done to clamp down on the fraudulent taxi drivers in KL. They are like ants either hiding behind hotel pillars or sitting on their bonnets waiitng to pounce.

My wife and I were ripped off by an Indian-looking taxi driver which was in China Town to take us to Bukit Bintang Malaysia hotel.

How are we to know what is the normal rate if they don't use their meters?

Quite simply it ruined our impression of KL transportation and most likely like others will not return or change the stop-over to Australia.

Singapore will probably be more honest to us in the future as a mini-break.

What we want to know is - Who is monitoring these fraudsters who seem to be many??.

Sri-Petaling late at night seems to be 'harrass the tourist' taxi spot whether we want one or not.

most of us will ask for a taxi -not exepct to be approached 20 times for one!

I understand that people need to make a living but if it's getting this bad they should find other jobs!
Honesty is always the best policy.
No offence intended to all the honest ones though who can always rely on repeat customers instead of the scum mafia taxis.

KL Tourism authroity, government and city transport authority -wake up please!!
