Built in 1150, on the south side of the River in Haigerloch, is the Romerturm. It is also known as the "upper" or "high" Tower and can be seen from most places in Haigerloch. Built as Keep in Romanesque style, it is not actually of Roman origin. It used to be part of the Citadel founded by the Counts of Zollern, who lived in Haigerloch. The Tower used to be timber framed, with a partly hipped roof.

It is open to the public in the Summer months only, the rest of the time it has to be viewed from the outside. I should think there would be excellent views from the Tower.
