"BORDE HILL -"THE GARDEN'S" - 1" Lindfield Things to Do Tip by balhannah
Lindfield Things to Do: 5 reviews and 10 photos
At the Gift shop entrance, we were given a map and we were on our way!
A lot of the 17 acre Garden is set out in "Garden Room's," and it's here, in the main part, the 1598 Tudor Mansion, "Borde Hill House" stands.
We were here in July, and the garden was nice, and I think it would be at any time of the year, as it has been planted for seasonal colours, like the "Azalea Ring," one of the first areas to be planted and is a picture in May with the deciduous azaleas turning the area into a kaleidoscope of colour.
Other garden room's are, the garden of "Allah," planted in the 1920?s with rhododendrons & Tree's.
The chinese Tulip Tree is a picture, and I can verify that, as I have one in my home garden! It flower's in late spring, and has a coloured Orange Lotus like flower.
Magnolia trees flower in late May with gigantic scented creamy flowers perfuming the entire area, we have these home too!
Another garden is the "Long Dell," which was a former Quarry site, and now filled with Tree's and flowers.
There is more, so will continue on the next tip...........
