Just like the blue water around the coast and the islands, there are also two mineral rich blue/green pools of water in the hills around Krabi - Khao Pra - Bang Kram Wildlife Sanctuary
It took us some 30mins to get there from the airport. 200THB (for foreigners) and 10minute walk through tropical forests gets you to the the first pool - the Emerald Pool/Sra Morakot. More green than emerald-ish in colour, the pool is like a pond which is fed continuously by a stream at its far end. The mineral rich water gives the pond its greenish hue (and folks around say that one mustn't keep the eyes open under water for too long). The water is chest deep (i am some 5'10" tall) and the rocks around the pool are very slippery. Dont pay heed to the same and jump in from wherever you feel most confident or just slide in.
A further walk uphill, this time on a wooden elevated pathway (With the planks torn away at many places and the nails peeking out adding to the excitement) takes you through lush foliage & thick forest. At one point the pathway ends and if there's no one around you wouldnt probably know where to go. Just follow the beaten path through the large trunked trees and at the end of this walk you will reachan elevated platform around a pool with the most electric blue colour you would have ever seen
Stay there for a while to soak up the pece, the silence & the absolute mesmerising blue colour at the bottom the pool
