We stayed here for a week in October 2011 and it was one nice stay
We had started interacting with the hotel for about 2 months before our actual arrival and I must say I was impressed with the regularity & efficiency of the replies
We stayed in an ocean view room (1202) which was absolutely what we were secretly wishing for... A great shot of the surrounding tropical foliage and a view of the turquoise sea. to give you an objective undestanding of the place
# The property is about 35mins from Krabi airport & some 25mins from Ao Nang town (the beach town in these parts). Trips to and back from own cost us some 400THB each way.
# Right outside the property is a mom&pop store that sells everything from Alcohol to Soda. The kind lady there (remember to keep your footwear outside) sells cans of Chang beer at 28THB and coke for some 15THB
# As you go further down the road, towards Klong Muang beach (8-10mins, walking) there are a few restaurants on either side. Most dishes there would cost between 100 to 200THB... cut through the houses on to the beach and there is even a Reggae Beach Shack that looks dressed for the part
# To the other side is Klong Muang Plaza (towards town) with a whole host of restaurants, souvenir shops, convenience stores & ATMS/Money Changers
# Nakamanda's complimentary breakfast is excellent. On buffet are a range of fruits, juices, breads, preserves, butter, pancakes & french toast. The menu gives you access to super-excellent omlettes with a range of fillings, sausages, bacon & baked beans
# Their dinner menu is limited but it probably served the best meals we had in Krabi. The Red curry is HOT, the green curry very flavoursome, the tom yum soup fragrant. We had dinner on the beachside deck on two nights and enjoyed every morsel of it. I even ventured out to eat on the continental side of the menu. The pan fried sea bass was bliss and everyone on the table never stopped raving about it. Each of our dinners cost us about 1800THB (2 couples)
# The hotel staff is attentive and discreet. They helped us set up trips to Railay, the emerald pool etc with the least amount of effort
# The wifi was excellent and kept my BlackBerry PlayBook as well as smartphone chugging without having to spend a king's ransom on data transfers
All in all, a wondeful and rememberable stay
Cheers Nakamanda

(P.S.: - I dont own a stake in Nakamanda. The gushing tributes up there are merely function of a super wonderful stay & a sleepless sunday back home)
