Favorite thing: If you have ever enjoyed a bottle of wine you would have found a cork...and the cork is made of cork of course. Both Spain and its neighbour Portugal have a huge industry based on the peeling of the cork bark off the trees and converting it into one of the most useful substances.
Today many vinyards are beginning to convert to the use of silicon corks, sort of takes the fun out of smelling the cork since the silicon does not absorb the flavor of the wine.
