When my kids were growing up and we would go skiing in the Sierra's, if there was time we would always stop in coming back at Ikeda's for pie and ice cream. That was 15 years ago and the quality of the pies and goodies at Ikea hasn't changed as I was delighted to find recently.
There are so many pies to choose from so let me give you my favorites. The dutch apple crumb pie is delicious. Served hot with vanilla ice cream I could just crawl into a bed and sleep forever.
However the place also serves many cobblers. The marionberry or blueberry cobbler is sensational. Both again with ice cream are fantastic.
They also sell whole pies. The pies are not cheap but are all produced on-site and worth the money if you are a serious pie lover.
The place also serves breakfast and lunch. I had a hamburger and fries here a few years agioand I can remember that the food was just ok. So I would stick to the pies and look around at the country market for other local and non-local fruits.
Favorite Dish: Dutch crumb apple pie, marionberry cobbler, blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
