The square in the town centre has only recently been redesigned. Google Earth still shows it as a construction site (checked in October 2011), so this must be really new. The small stream that runs through the town has been turned into a canal with sandstone walls and a rocky river bed. Wide sandstone steps lead down to the water, a place to sit in the sun and relax, for example with an icecream. The nearest icecream place is a few steps away in the pedestrian street.

Weinstraße, the Wine Road, runs right through here. The Western part of the square is surrounded by a number of elegant 19th century villas, now seat of administration offices, a bank and lawyer's studios, and one is a B&B. The large baroque building on the Eastern side is still under refurbishment, I wonder what its purpose is going to be.

The name of the square is referred to in the fountain on the corner of Tanzstraße: a shepherd couple carrying lambs. Two stone pumpkins provide the water (what's the connection between sheep and pumpkin?) - anyway, the fountain is cute, but easily missed because it is placed in a shady corner.

Tanzstraße is pedestrianized and the shopping street of the town. Okay Edenkoben is a very small town!
