The Town Hall Square is the name given to the most important and central square of the city of Valencia (Spain). It has had several names, Emilio Castelar in the Second Republic (1936-39), during the Franco Caudillo Square then in Transition, Square of Valencia until 1987 and finally as the current name of the City consensus. There is a proposal by the Valencian Council of Culture rename it again, this time as James I, the founder of the Christian Kingdom of Valencia.
After downing the convent square was created using the same solar gardens, although until well into the twentieth century adopted its current physiognomy, through several renovations and projects.
