Camy Shanghai Dumpling House: "Yummy Yummy Melbourne" Camy Shanghai Dumpling & Noodle Restaurant Tip by mattdinh

Hi guys & gals.

First of all, if you are on a budget and want something and easy. Camy Shanghai Dumpling House is the place for you. It's in a laneway (Tattersall's Lane) off Chinatown. A warning to visitors, the lane stinks. However, once you enter Camy's it is a different story.

Food is great for it's price. $8.50AUD for a plate of 15 fried or steamed pork dumplings. The food is pretty quick once you order. I usually wait like 3-5 minutes for my dish to come out. Sometimes even less.

It's self service cutlery. Make sure to clean the cutlery and bowl with the servettes/tissue.

Service is pretty ordinary and it is what you expect from most Asian places and this is coming from an Asian. Surroundings is not 5 star and ambience is fairly average. I mean sometimes you may have to share a table with other patrons. But don't let that ruin your appetite

Highly recommend Camy's Shanghai Dumpling House for those that are on a budget or want to experience wonderful dumplings. Just don't expect posh service.

Favorite Dish: The Dumplings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I love the Mushroom & Spinach dumplings (great for vegetarians or vegans), Fried Pork Dumplings and the Steamed Rice Cakes (again great for vegetarians or vegans).

A tip for the Fried dumplings, make sure you bite carefully. Nothing worse than lip burns from the oil.
