"St. Ursula" Old Town Tip by antistar
Old Town, Oberursel: 3 reviews and 9 photos
As it was built in Oberursel's old old town, you can guess the church of St. Ursula is pretty damned old. In fact there's evidence that it is at least a thousand years old. The current model, at least its general shape, is a bit more modern, dating from the 15th century. Like much of the rest of the town it was burned down by Napoleon but rebuilt exactly as before.
The church sits high atop a crest of a hill, above a relatively flat old town. It stands out proud above the skyline and is a clear icon of the city. Framed against a green band of Taunus mountains, or poking above or between the red roofs of the old town, it makes for some beautiful views.
