"Beveridge Park" Kirkcaldy Things to Do Tip by iaint

Beveridge Park is close to the town centre, maybe 10 minutes walk from the railway station.
It was gifted to the town - in the days of municipal munificence - by one of the local worthies.
I take it for granted. I run around it most weekends as part of my 5 mile (8 km) circuit.
Sometimes I do stop to stare. In autumn particularly, when the trees are wonderful.
It has a large pond - for swans & ducks, plus boats in the summer, a children?s playground, a skateboard park, tennis courts, a bowling green (for the very British summer sport of bowls), a 5 a side football court etc. But it?s so big that finding quiet space is very easy.
The town?s rugby team (the Blues) plays there.
However, one of the main user groups is the local teenagers. At night they can sit there and scoof their cheap supermarket vodka in privacy. Watch out for broken glass at the weekends.
