W Starej Kuchnia Jana Kosciousko: "Small restaurant traditional polish food" Krakow Restaurant Tip by GentleSpirit

Krakow Restaurants: 555 reviews and 747 photos

This was a small restaurant a few blocks away from the Rynek Glowny. It offered only traditional Polish dishes, with an emphasis on roast meats (it seemed)

The ambience was friendly, it wasn't one of those fancy restaurants and didn't pretend. You came in and could see the bread oven right there(the bread was super!) Service was very friendly and attentive. The waiter was happy to recommend some of the specialties of the house. The Australian girls at the table next to me ordered the mixed grill, which seemed like a lot of food.

The restaurant seemed to attract a lot of families. A good mixture of tourists and locals. i overheard some people remarking how cheap the beer was.

Very happy with a yummy meal and a nice relaxed place to eat.

i ate at this restaurant twice.

Favorite Dish: trout with almonds
-side of dumplings

trout was quite fresh and of decent size. (I had asked for something that wasn't too big)
good taste and the dumplings were divine!
