North London Tavern: "Saturday night in Kilburn" London Nightlife Tip by uglyscot

A friend and I were invited to a party at the North London Tavern. It is basically a pub,but there is a lounge upstairs where private parties are held. Downstairs is dim and crowded with young people and older drinkers. A board on the street says lunch is available from 12.00 to 3.30 pm, and dinner from 6.00pm -10pm..
Upstairs we met our friends and their other guests. Dinner was vegetarian and the mushroom in creamy sauce was delicious. There were other dishes too and a selection of salads. After the majority had eaten, a band started playing and some of the guests began to dance.
A special guest was produced by the band- a young Moroccan who played some wooden stringed instrument and sang in his own language . The tunes were very lively and the dancers became more frenzied. The lounge had been hired from 7pm -1am.
