"The El Caracol" Mayan Ruins Tip by joiwatani

Mayan Ruins, Isla Cozumel: 6 reviews and 13 photos

In Cozumel, Mexico, you can see some Mayan vestiges, like the El Caracol in Punta Sur- part of the Faro Celarain Ecopark.

These are old stones stacked together that look like a snail and this was built in 600 BC. These can also be seen in Belize, and some parts of Mexico.

The El Caracol are made of white stones and they have stood the weather for a thousand of years.

When you stop at the El Caracol, you will see a lot of iguanas crawling on the sand and going inside the El Caracol.

Address: Punta Sur, Isla Cozumel, Mexico
Directions: This can be seen in the middle of the Faro Ceralain Ecopark. These are on the sides of the road.
