"Coyotes: A Present Threat" Cape Breton Highlands National Park Warnings Or Dangers Tip by TooTallFinn24

About two years ago a young teenage singer from Toronto was killed by coyotes. There have also been other reported incidents.

Coyotes within the national park seem to be less fearful of the presence of humans compared to outside of the park where they are trapped and hunted. On my trip to Cape Breton I encountered what appeared to be a young coyote watching me from a rock. I got out of there quick!

If you come across coyotes;

1) Do not feed them
2) At your campsite dispose of any food or garbage far away from your tent.
3) Travel with someone .
4) Report any encounters to the National Park Service.
