"Geysir" Iceland Things to Do Tip by Skibbe

Iceland Things to Do: 998 reviews and 2,342 photos

This is the location of the first known geyser so it is where the term comes from. That geyser, over 10,000 years old, erupts infrequently now but the nearby Strokkur ("The Churn") goes off with eruptions less than seven minutes apart-sometimes only seconds apart. There are several other geysers and hot pools in the immediate vicinity. This is also part of the Golden Circle tour.
