The Kitzlochklamm is another great gorge and is found in Taxenbach. The gorge is named like this because young goats (?Kitz? in German) enjoyed the cool gorge and tunnels in summer. After the entrance, you will quickly reach a nice waterfall and then the gorge starts, with a path along the gorge and over wooden bridges. You will also pass a dripstone cave, but it?s only open during guided tours. Then you need to climb up lots of stairs and above you can look at the ?devil?s gorge?, a small gorge with high rocks around. There are also some interesting rock formations. The path then goes through a tunnel and afterwards over a spectacular bridge, goes up a bit more along the rocks until you reach the end of the gorge. At that point we turned and went back the same way until after the tunnel. There, another path brings you back to the car park, and you will pass a tunnel that was build by gold seekers around 1640 (if you have a torch light, you can walk a bit into that tunnel), and a former hermitage which was well integrated with the little tunnel. The last hermit that lived at that place hat a little hut at that place and died in 1913.
The Kitzlochklamm is less touristy than the Liechtensteinklamm but in my view it?s just as great there!
