You have to give it a try if you like Thai food although the name of this restaurant would suggest typical Slovenian food, and so would its rural setting under hills, in a quite typical Slovenian post-WWII building.
It takes good map to find it - it's several kilometers from centre, along old road towards Hoče, you'll pass Betnava castle. We came because we heard it recommended from few people and because it's always good to try something new, and hey... in Slovenian context Thai restos are something exotic.
Imagine you'd expect to find it in city, somewhere within urban setting like Dabuda in Ljubljana for example (with food there no worth of Thai name unlike advertised, but that's another story). Yet it's in village, non pretentious, basic... and what I liked and matter the most is the food... how it's prepared, ingredientes they used, how we got served. And yes, the cook is Thai and we wouldn't want to have her kitchen adapted to local taste buds.
Favorite Dish: Okay, there's hardly any atomspehre here, no urban buzz or whatsoever, at bar section there are few local faces, at restaurant section there weren't many people either, but they were interesting international crowd.
The menu emphasize Thai food, but for local part there's also local cook so you can eat something 'local' here, too.
We had grilled orada fish with garlic and with chilli sauce - it's all very nice and crispy, served traditionally with bowl of rice. Needs no big philosophy behind it, this is simple yet delicious dish two people can eat if they are not both very hungry or they order one each.
They're closed on Wednesdays.
Update October 2012: when my hubby returned with his firends he saw lot more people in the restaurant and significant increase of price since our first visit (in 2011).
Address: Razvanjska cesta 32
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: near Betnava castle and Pohorje in direction to Hoče, southern Maribor
