The Mosone Center host quite a number of local and international Conventions a year and you can take a pick on the type of conventions you would want to attend. In any given year Moscone Center plays host to the likes of LinnuxWorld, CTIA, Oracle, and MacWorld, etc. This Humongous complex was built in 1981 by architects Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum as one single hall, Moscone South and subequent renovations involved extending it and renaming the annexes as Moscone North and Moscone West. It is named after George Moscone, a former mayor of San Francisco who was assassinated in 1978.

The Moscone Center is San Francisco's premier meeting place, Conventions and exhibition facility and it consists of two main underground halls underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, Moscone North and Moscone South, as well the three-level Moscone West exhibition hall across 4th Street. With more then two million square feet of buidings and 700,000 square feet of meeting area, housed on some 20 acres, the Moscone Center is a magnet for every kind of conference, convention and other meeting activity for groups, organiztions, industries and companies from around the globe.
