The Pantry: "Good Irish Breakfast!" The Pantry Tip by suvanki
The Pantry, Dublin: 1 reviews and 5 photos
We could have paid extra for breakfast at our hotel, but having read mixed reviews (In hind-sight, I'm sure that the hotel breakfast would have been very good), and having got up quite late, we decided to eat elsewhere.
A few steps from our hotel, we spotted a sign outside this cafe advertising Irish Breakfast for 6.50 Euros, so we decided to 'give it a go'
Seating at tables or in booths. Spacious dining area (pic 4) Clientele a mix of local workmen, foreign students, families, solo diners, friends etc.
Friendly, polite and efficient staff. Waitress service.
We both opted for the regular sized breakfast - and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so, that we ate here on all three mornings of our stay. They open on Sundays, when there is a Sunday Special menu.
Besides breakfasts, they provide snacks and meals (Cottage Pie, Fish and Chips, salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers etc) throughout the day to eat in or Take Away, all for a reasonable price.
Their range of coffees is apparently very good.
In the doorway was a selection of free post-cards, including 1 of Rory Gallagher.
Toilets for customers use.
Favorite Dish: Their Irish Breakfast (pic 2)'hit the spot' Local sausage, fried egg, black and white pudding, hash brown, 2 slices of toast with butter and a pot of tea or coffee (We had tea)
This was uniformally very good - We had this breakfast for 3 mornings (it's probably not the healthiest option, but I do enjoy a fry up when it's cooked for me, so it's a 'holiday treat')
On the Sunday, we enjoyed an additional orange juice.
Mushrooms, beans, tomatoes or extra sausage, eggs etc for 1-2 Euros.
