"Views of the Two Villages" Due Carrare Things to Do Tip by painterdave
Due Carrare Things to Do: 2 reviews and 10 photos
You could almost hold your breath and drive completely through Due Carrare without needing air. Historically, the village is almost devoid of any pertinent details, but there is a very old church and now a new statue besides an old ghost ridden villa. We have 3 castles just outside of town, an old boat sitting in a canal and 8 coffee bars and a small hotel.
Take a look at the photos and you will quickly learn almost all there is to know about DC.
The villages are named after the Carraresi family, who ruled Padua in the late Middle Ages and two saints.
The statue symbolizes the joining of these two villages, Carrara San Giorgio and Carrara Santo Stefano. The fountain is the product of minimal spending to create a minor effect. The Old villa is claimed to have ghosts roaming the deserted hallways, most of the villa is closed up. The turkeys were discovered along the small canal and are hoped to be the start of multiple breedings by persons celebrating Thanksgiving.
quote from wikipedia " The elder Cararrese line was extinguished with the murders of Francesco Novello da Carrara and all his sons but Marsilio and bishop Stefano in a Venetian prison in 1406; Marsilio died soon after, and Stefano fled to Rome, where he lived until 1448." Perhaps these are the ghosts causing all the disturbances?
