the dade battlefield historic state park is located just south of the town of bushnell. this park is at the site of the dade massacre of december 28 th 1835. major frances l. dade and 106 of his troops were killed by the seminoles that day. along with the battle site the state park has a small museum about the massacre and nature trails. in december of each year is an reinactment of the massacre at the park. the dade battlefield is a designated national historic site. for those interested in old florida history this is a interesting park to visit in central florida.
