The Church of St. Marie, built between 1365 and 1479, is no longer a Church, but was renovated in 2001, and is now an Indoor Market place.
Of gothic design, it was damaged and sold during the French revolution. Not much of the original Church remains, but there are a few gargoyle's, the Bell Tower with a missing Steeple!
There is also a glass lift to reach the top of the bell tower to have a 360 degree view of the city.
I didn't do that, nor did I go inside, as there was so much else in Sarlat to see.
Two, colossal, metallic doors, 17 metres high and weighing two tonnes are very impressive!
The covered market is OPEN....All Year Long
