Konditorei FÜRST in Salzburg: "the place where the original Mozartkugel came from" Top 5 Page for this destination Austria Restaurant Tip by globetrott

Austria Restaurants: 93 reviews and 113 photos

Mozartkugeln is a standart austrian confect that you can buy in every supermarket
and souvenirshop nowadays: small balls in red silverfoil. BUT these are not the real, original Mozartkugeln, because they would be packed in lightblue silverfoil like in my main photo here : Konditorei FÜRST in Salzburg was the home of the first Mozartkugel and it is still produced there. In 1890 they had won a gold medail at the world exhibition for them, but unfortunatly they did not think of registering the name and so you will find various different "original Mozartkugeln" nowadays from various other companies.

Favorite Dish: The original Mozartkugeln, made by Konditorei Fürst - they are packed in blue Try it and you will taste the difference against other mozartkugeln:
The chocolate-cover is much softer,( but might also make you sticky fingers )

Address: Salzburg / Brodgasse 13
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: You will find them 4 times in Salzburg: click here
