"HODONIN" Valtice Off The Beaten Path Tip by balhannah
Valtice Off The Beaten Path: 4 reviews and 12 photos
Hodonin is a town about 33kms away from Valtice. I found it had quite a few lovely Czech buildings, all painted nice and looking good.
One that appealed, was the Town Hall, built in Nurembeg Art Nouveau style between 1902 and 1904 and located in the Masaryk Square. On the outside of the building, is a memorial dedicated to all the casualties in WWII.
Practically next door to the Town Hall, is the Baroque church of St. Lawrence . This Church was originally a gothic building in the 13th century, but was transformed into it's baroque shape between 1780 - 1786. I find the Baroque style rather attractive!
The Art Gallery was another distinctive building which was actually built by the Moravian Group of Artists. The Address ia.... Uprkova 2, 695 01, Hodonín.
My last photo I do not know what the building is, perhaps somebody may tell me. I thought the exterior was rather beautiful and worth a photo!
