the homosassa springs wildlife park is located about five miles northeast of downtown on US 19. the park is part of the florida state park system. years ago homosassa springs was a privately owned tourist attraction called nature's fish bowl. the main attraction of the park is a underwater viewing area were you can see manatees and fresh and salt water fish. the park also has reptile exhibits and a hippo which has lived at the park for over 40 years. a very interesting state park to visit in west central florida.

Directions: take yulee drive (SR 490) east to US 19.
