St. Regis Lhasa: "Lhasa's Best Hotel" Lhasa Hotel Tip by Maria81

  The Hotel Pool

When booking our trip through the agency, we've specifically requested that we stay in St. Regis in Lhasa - the newest resort that has been opened (managed by Starwood). We've not been disappointed - it's a true 5-star resort. Even the simpler rooms were spacious, at ca. 75 sq. meters, the resort had all the conceivable conveniencies and luxuries (even more remarkable, given you're still on the wilder side of travelling). The service was excellent, with a 24hr butler available, and the food great with choice of Tibetan, Chinese and international dishes served. My particular favourites were Italian ones, pizza and spaghetti, as well as the deserts.

Unique Qualities: - The amazing view of the Potala from the lobby of the hotel - there is a viewing balcony which is also perfect for taking pictures

- The rooms, spacious with a huge bathroom (my particular favourite)

- The library with a good selection of both local interest and international fiction titles (in the languages where most of the hotel's guests come from)

- The service, which is coordinated through the butler - so you only really need to dial one number, regardless of what you want. The butler will see to it

- The spa and pool facility, luxurious but still with a traditional Tibetan architectural detail (and I don't mean the gold-colour tiles there)

Address: 22 Jiangsu Lu
Price Comparison: most expensive
Price: US$180 and up
Theme: Hotel
