"GRANDSON CASTLE" Grandson Things to Do Tip by balhannah
Grandson Things to Do: 1 reviews and 1 photos
There is no way we could miss this Castle as it was located on the main road through town.
Unfortunately, by the time we found our accommodation, it had become late in the day, and the Castle was closed. We then did the next best thing, had Dinner at the Cafe located opposite the Castle. Nice to eat and enjoy the view.
From what I had read, you follow numbers as you walk around the Castle.
Expect to see a Torture Chamber with original wheel and executioners’ axe, About the Burgundian Wars, treasure's from 1476, Prison, and a ramparts walk leading through the various towers and watch-rooms.
There is a vintage Museum with some Cars that belonged to famous people. See Greta Garbo’s 1927 white Rolls-Royce Phantom and Winston Churchill’s 1938 Austin Cambridge, plus a lot more Cars.
It's a nice looking Castle, located by Lake Neuchtal
