Notre Dame du Paris (The lady of Paris) is the tourist centre of Paris. It is not the largest Cathedral ever built but is certainly one of the most interesting. The main points of interest are the huge rose stained-glass windows either side of the Alter and outside, the flying buttresses at the rear which help support the huge structure. These are best viewed from the small park behind the cathedral.

I always feel a bit guilty about following the other 500 people into someone's place of worship just to have a look around but I suppose one more makes no difference. It does annoy me though when it clearly says 'area for silent prayer only' in several languages and you still get people walking into that area talking and taking photographs - so disrespectful really.
