  Pink and Purple Day

The Blackspot is where drivers coming from Nambour make a right hand turn into Woombye. If another car is travelling north at speed a collision is almost inevitable as there is insufficient vision.

Grace and Jessica and their grandmother Denise "Mimi'' Mansell, 60, were killed in a car crash at the intersection on May 8, 2009,as well as the driver of the other car.
Since then some changes have been made ...but not enough say the locals.
Woombye residents have campaigned for the intersection on Nambour Connection Rd to be upgraded to include traffic lights

In an effort to the reduce road toll the "pink and purple" day has been introduced.

A small but passionate group of walkers hit the pavement recently in memory of the girls on what has come to be known as Grace and Jessica's Road Smart Day.
