When travelling through Tirol, this is a place for all fans of products by Swarovski: Kristallwelten by Swarovski might be a good reason for some tourists to go to Wattens, a small town in the east of Innsbruck. Swarovski is not really "my cup of tea" and therefore I did not go inside the exhibition, but rather had a look over the fence in order to take a photo of the famous fountain there.
There is a large carpark there for visitors of Kristallwelten, and the parking is free of charge !
For some more details about exhibits etc. please take a look at their webpage below !
My 2nd and 3rd picture: The Swarovski-mouse was obviously one of the first works of art made by Swarovski and you can see it next to the entrance of the Kristallwelten / Crystallworld.
When I read that correctely, the production of the mouse was started in 1976 more as a joke by a technical illustrator named Max Schreck, who combined several loose crystal elements and that was the first of a long series of cute animals made by Swarovski.
Kristallwelten is open daily from 09.00am till 06.30pm
at December 24th: 09.00am till 02.00pm
December 31st: 09.00am-04.00pm
last entry always 1 hours before closingtime !
entrancefee is 9,50 euros p.p.
Directions: Kristallwelten is a bit outside of the village Wattens, it is best to go there by car or by public bus. Wattens is directely along the highway and along the trainline, in the east of Innsbruck.
