a "divided church"
This little church, divided into 2 parts with a street between them is close to the Portsche-museum in Gmünd, so you can combine it with an excursion to that area:
In the first moment the expression "divided church" sounds very strange and when I saw the signposts to this church I wanted to know what it is all about this so-called "divided church".
Talk a look at my photos: on the left there is the church with the altar and on the right - divided by the road in between - is the part of the church, where the audience / the believers are sitting like on a balcony.
The road between the 2 parts of the church was the main road once and I read that the people who had been sentenced to death could walk that way on their last way to the hangman through the church and ask for forgiveness.
In order to get there you have to go through the "Oberes Stadt-tor" in Gmünd and drive about 1km to get to that church !
