"VISIT THE FABULOUS SUN MUSEUM" Sun Museum Tip by DennyP
Sun Museum, Riga: 2 reviews and 8 photos
My visit to the Sun Museum was on the advise of the proprietor of the Hostel in which I was staying...so I decided to go along and see what it was like...I must confess although only a small museum the staff were just so helpful especial the young man in charge.
This is a very unique museum ,as it contains, what started out as a collection of any sunshaped objects from many different countries and there are different interpretations of the sun here from all over the world that were collected by the original collector Iveta Grazule .
Iveta had a real passion for anything that looked like the sun to add to her collection but alas the collection got too large and so !!!.There are many different and unusual and really colourful sun shaped objects made from all sorts of materials on display and is facinating to see from where they all originate ,and the different interpretations that the makers have for them..This surely is a really different and very interestingly unique and colourful collection.. Also great for kids as each visitor is given a plaster cast of a sun and then gets to paint it in the colours of their own interpretation.I must confess to being a kid and painting my own and sitting with a "bib "getting paint everywhere..but unfortuneatly it got broken in transit...Booo!!.What a wonderful little Museum to visit..
