"THE BRIDGE" Montignac Things to Do Tip by balhannah
Montignac Things to Do: 7 reviews and 17 photos
Arriving in Montignac by Car, we crossed over this bridge to reach the information Centre.
What I didn't realize until looking upstream and seeing the Arches, this was quite a beautiful bridge, old too, being built between 1766 and 1777.
The original Bridge was burnt by Protestants to protect their pension, and was rebuilt and then carried away by floods in 1620. The current bridge, built between 1766 and 1777, replaced a kind of boat used for 150 years.
Walk downstream for a nice photo!
