  Old Depot
by Basaic

Anchoring one end of the historic district in downtown Montevideo is the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Depot. The railroad first arrived in Montevideo as the Hastings and Dakota Railroad in 1878 and was then sold to the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. The depot was built in 1901 and now houses a museum. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
