There is nothing better for me than explore small villages and venture in the local shops.
Bakeries are always interesting, each one have different stuff some are the usual some have real surprise. A spanakopita or tiropita (a triangle of phillo paste stuffed with cheese and/or spinach) is for me the best snack at the beach, so I always go to small bakery to buy it and to look at the selection of cookies, Greek sweets with honey and bread. Never been disappointed.

Another great idea is buy vegetables or fruit at the stands you find driving around farming areas. The products come right out of the fields, tomatoes are perfectly ripe and so tasty! non the sad thing you find at the supermarket. Oranges are good too during the summer.
Big braids of red onions or garlic make a great souvenir to bring home so you can enjoy greek flavours at home for a long time.

What to pay: Less than in a supermarket
