  Baradine R.S.L. Hall

Favorite thing: I found this building of interest. It reflects Australia's past in a vivid manner.
The latin inscription means "Faithful to the Urn" or, in other words, the ashes of the war dead.

Fondest memory: This building is the R.S.L. hall which stands for Returned Soldiers League and a time when that aspect of history was writ large upon Australia's landscape. Many towns have R.S.L. buildings that are licensed premises and trade heavily on poker machines (slot machines in other countries) and are run as a business and pay token service to their military heritage, many stopping for the playing of the Ode at 9 p.m. then it's straight back into the pokies.
This hall obviously does not fit into that category and today can be used for community events.
