I used to live at this tropical Beach suburb of Cairns and often go back to walk the beach and enjoy a coffee afterwards at the cafe.
It is a laid back place where you will meet the locals as you beach walk.
It is fringed with with palm trees and shade trees.Free bbq's and picnic spots and a childs playground and toilet facilities.
During the summer months and stinger season the swimming nets are installed and lifegaurds patrol the beach between the flags.
The northern part of the beach is a dog area where owners can take the leash off their pooch and let them run free--The mid part of the beach and to the south dogs must be kept on a leash.
There is a market day along the esplanade the last Sunday of each month and it is very popular for the locals rather than for tourists.
Holloways Beach also has a pizza cafe and a bottleshop,laundromat,a resort and apartments to rent.
